As planned, after one week of my pornblr tagging assignment we talked about how it was going. This is the result.

So we’re raising the stakes.

“Start counting. I’ll tell you when to increase it. You can keep track on paper, in a file somewhere, on your tumblr—up to you. Every time you tag a post that you shouldn’t, that will be one. Every time I find a post untagged that you should have, that will be two. Any time I want, I’ll ask you for the count. If we’re in person, one stroke—cane, flogger, crop, bare hand, something else—decreases it by one. Other punishments are worth whatever I say they’re worth.

“If you lose track of the count, you will be sad.”

That was on Saturday night. My first error was Sunday morning: a sloppy one, something he’d obviously like. The count now is seven, all the rest false positives after the first (which is the intended result of the unequal punishments—it’s easier and by definition more fun for him to check just the tagged content for errors than to go through everything). 

I, being me, am keeping a spreadsheet. Ledger-style, with columns for strokes earned and strokes received and comments. So far the comments are just types and URLs of mistakes; I look forward to balancing my books with descriptions of punishments.

The current count is in the header at the pornblr. I’ll update it periodically as we go through my tags and he tells me about any more errors—unless I can get the value out of my spreadsheet automatically using the Google API, which is my next project. Sometimes I wonder if I don’t have as much fun working on tools for play as actually playing.

(ETA: Okay, made the API link. The number in the tumblr header should actually query the spreadsheet itself when it loads now. I’m not sure which is more ridiculous, that fact or how pleased I am with it.)
